Hi All noticed these on ebay UK, I see that the seller has sold before & people seem happy. I have searched the PART NO: 45M5875 & fru given 71Y9905 but cant find what machine they are for? Any ideas?

Just had a punt for £10 sure if not needed & i find the machine i should be able to resell & get my money back? also someone will usually give a couple of pounds for a faulty hdd.
seller has now relisted

71Y9905 is for a ThinkCentre A58 (that's a Desktop, not a laptop).
The 45M5875 might have a typo...

Thanks for the input RBS, I was beginning to think it had stumped this great knowledge base as last time i looked there was about 150 views & no replys. :D
Its a shame if its just for desktops, as the seller said it came with the laptop drive. (i was kinda hoping it may of been a multi purpose fit all models solution that lenovo couldve sent to disgruntled vista users? :) )
As an experiment If i try it in my x60s it cant really do any harm can it?
If unstable can i just reinstall the orig that i have made recovery CDS for?
cheers

Sure you can try it...worst case is that it will blue screen due to improper Video Drivers. Yes you can reinstall using your original recovery set provided that it works.

Ok just a quick update, These discs as RBS said were for a thinkcentre & downgrade discs for vista users. They installed ok but then xp tried to boot & within a couple of seconds got BSOD so appears to be a no go on my x60s.
I tried to reinstall vista business from recovery discs i made but they didnt work (Very prophetic Harry :) )so Im not having a lot of joy with recovery media (hope i have better luck with the windows 7 discs i ordered).
