ViDock alternative: MAGMA ExpressBox ??

#1 Post by AMATX » Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:49 pm

Just came across this site/hardware: http://www.magma.com/

They market a wide variety of video card expansion boxes for laptops via the ExpressCard slot.

Enclosed boxes, similar in function to the ViDock stuff, but a wider variety of power capacities. Also have some 'guts'/non-enclosed setups, too.

Somewhat expensive, but sure looks tempting

Anyone know sumpin' about these or have experience with them??

Looked at the price and had a bit of sticker shock. If that's the price of the competition, I think I'll stick with plans for a ViDock in a month or two.

Yeah, I too noticed the high prices. However, for someone wanting to use a high juice/horsepower video card, this would work better than the ViDock stuff.
