Recovery Disks compatibility?

#1 Post by emeraldgirl08 » Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:31 am

I have a question regarding recovery disks. I am wondering if my copy of recovery disks for an R40 w/XP Pro/P4 would work on an R40e w/XP Home/Celeron???

The recovery disks in questions are a 5 CD set. I do not know the FRU or PN on them as they are copies. I do not know for certain whether the COA will cause any problems. What does the 1st disk contain as it is a bootable recovery disk that starts recovery??? Does that contain the vanilla XP Pro while the other disks contain the specific models programs and drivers?

TIA.

If you ignore the COA implications, they should work fine.
With a recovery set you don't need a COA, it's factory built-in (volume license from IBM).
