I have the slim HD adapter for my T41. The adapter itself fits easily. A 9.5mm drive fits in nicely (in my case) and sticks up a barely perceptible amount and makes the adapter a snug fit without any undue effort. If your hard drive is in a carrier, try removing the carrier to see if that helps. You should not have to force these things.

Beware and check other threads. It appears that if you try to boot an XP SP2 hard drive off the carrier, you may lose access to the drive. It appears to be an Activation thing, but I am by no means certain. I know it has happened to me, and I was never able to pin down exactly why.

The part number I have is "IBM Drive Bay Adapter 62P4554". Now that was purchased in late 2003, so the part number could have changed. Still, that is what I have. ... JD Hurst
