I have searched and read that others have made this mouse work (Wireless Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth) but I cant get it to work with my T30 (2366-92u running XP sp2).

I have installed the MS Intellimouse software but it does not detect any device. I wonder if the bluetooth is even turned on since the bluetooth status says "network cable unplugged"

Any direction or suggestions appreciated.

What type of Thinkpad (or bluetooth hardware) and what Bluetooth stack are you running?

We have the best luck running the XP SP2 Bluetooth stack and killing off the IBM stack.

My T30 has the IBM built in bluetooth. I did finally get the mouse to work but only with that ugly USB adapter abomination that came with the mouse.

How do I get just the XPSP2 bluetooth stack and kill of the IBM stack so I can try that? I hope that I can make it work with the bluetooth that came with the laptop.

If you are running XP SP2 on your T30 you have to uninstall the IBM bluetooth driver from the CPL and then delete the bluetooth NIC in device manager.

Reboot and the only software is should be able to load is the MSFT stack.

You should not have to use the dongle to use that mouse.

I removed it all then rebooted. It did not detect it to re-install. When installing the MS drivers manually it could not find the device. Fn +F5 does nothing even with the latest hotkey utility which supports this, and even after installing the latest IBM drivers again. Everything points to bluetooth cannot be found or is not turned on. Then I found the following on the IBM website:

<begin quote>
The following IBM ThinkPad computers do not support the native Microsoft Bluetooth driver included in Windows XP Service Pack 2; therefore, users of these computers cannot use the Bluetooth feature in Windows XP SP2 on the following IBM ThinkPad systems even though Windows XP SP2 may be installed on these systems.

* ThinkPad A31p
* ThinkPad T30
* ThinkPad X23, X24
* ThinkPad X30
<end quote>

I may restore the system and stick with SP1 if this is the case or give up on Bluetooth entirely unless there is another solution.
