question about ultranav on external keyboards

I'm switching from my old t60p to a T-420, and am going to set up my old docking station, monitor and mouse at my Dad's house (giving back for all he's done for me). I bought a new mini-dock since it looks like my advanced dock won't fit the T420, and was shopping for a keyboard.

I don't see the UltraNav pad on any of the OEM keyboards- just the pointing stick. When did they phase this out, and will the old UltraNav external keyboard work on the T420?

Thanks,
Greg

The touchpad was dropped when the redesigned the external ThinkPad keyboard a year or so ago. The old style external ThinkPad keyboards are available at ClickyKeyboards.com for $50/ea.

And yes, the old one will work just fine (provided you can plug it in -- you'll need a PS2->USB adapter if you're not docked.)

^ Hmm, has the older PF key layout on the top, too. I recently bought the current model external keyboard, w/no pad. While it works well for me, it's a minor annoyance that the PF key layout is shifted a bit compared to the real layout on actual Thinkpads. I occasionally hit F3 when aiming for F4 and F2 when trying for F3...

Update: My old external keyboard with Ultranav is working seamlessly with the T420 and the Mini-docking station 3. So glad, now if they could just get the HDMI port into the T420 and/or the Mini-dock and have an always on USB port on the mini-dock- all would be wonderful! Thanks for the input, Greg
