Games for T42p

#1 Post by asiafish » Thu Mar 24, 2005 3:56 pm

Alright, I'm getting ready to leave for four months of military training followed by a year in Afghanistan, and I'd like to bring a rather full bag of games with me.

Basically, I like both roleplaying and first person shooters, as well as war games. I have KOTOR II "The Sith Lords" and Rome: Total War (on the way), any other recommendations for games that will get the most out of my new T42p?

Used copies are fine with me, so if anyone has something good that they don't play anymore, drop me a PM.

farcry plays decently well on my 1.7ghz with 1.3gb ram and 9600 mobile, although not running at the native 1400x1050 kind of makes it a little fuzzy

First of all thank you very much for doing what you are about to do.
Rome TW is one of the best games I've played, and it runs well on my T42
(FVU with an additional GB of RAM). You can play it many times with different factions. Half Life 2 is also quite fun.

anyone know how to make 1024 zoom up to 1400? ON my dewll it was just FN F4. We know that's reserved for standby... so how do you "stretch" the windows?

Doesn't Half Life 2 only work when connected to the internet? I'm interest in online games as I will be online very rarely, I need stand-alone single player games and also games that can be played over a small LAN.

Rome TW looks great and I've already picked up a copy, I also have True Crime Streets of LA and Silent Hill 3. The orignal Half Life and its four expansion packs round up PC collection at present.

Id Doom 3 worthwhile? Is there a hack to brighten it up so you don't need to constantly switch between weapon and flashlight?

Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Displays -> Panel (the LCD) -> Scale image to panel size.
I suggest it disabled, so no stretching occours, like native, although the rest of the screen is unused.
