Memory Question

My TP (R51-288758H) comes with 256MB built-in RAM. I read in the IBM website that it can handle up to 2GB of RAM. I'm planning to get a 1GB expansion. My question would be, can the built in memory in my TP be replaced with a 1GB and can it be done without getting someone from IBM to do it?

There a two memory slots in your thinkpad. The second one, which is empty if you haven't upgraded your memory, is at the bottom of the computer and you just have to take two screws out to get to it. Your old memory is somewhere beneath the keyboard and you can leave it there and gain 256 M. IBM website also has movies of how to upgrade/replace the memory by yourself. Not sure where exactly but you'll find it.

Does the movie show how to replace the original memory coz that's the one I want to upgrade first if possible. Then I'm planning to add another one at the expansion slot for a total of 2GB. Can anyone please post the link for the movie. I don't know if I'm blind or I'm not looking hard enough.
