two systems -one keyboard/mouse?

#1 Post by kobepm » Mon Mar 28, 2005 9:54 am

Greetings. Forgive my lack of knowledge....

I'd like to set up a flat monitor for my T42 at home....preferably with a wireless keyboard & mouse. However, I want to save desk space by also using this flat screen monitor for my wife's work computer - that's the easy part, I presume.

I need to ask if there is any way to share with her system my wireless keyboard & mouse....or must I use a wired keyboard/mouse system with some kind of A/B switch to toggle between my laptop and her work computer ?

Many thanks!

The device you'll need to do this is called a KVM switch. This is similar to the one I have: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 224&depa=0

You can find ones that will control 4 or more systems if desired. Stay away from the mechanical switch type ones, they tend to distort the monitor signal.
