Hello everyone, I'm having trouble installing a newly purchased corsair SSD drive on my laptop. This is what I have tried so far.

• using boot disc to freshly install windows 7 - when trying to choose a destination to install windows 7, computer doesn't recognize any connected hard drive.

• made a complete mirror image of my current hard drive onto my SSD - upon rebooting, laptop stays at the beginning ThinkPad page not allowing me to do anything. In order to enter bios I have to use the boot disc.

- in bios boot order is DVD rom then corsair SSD. Yes I can see my SSD in bios but not under recovery mode. although if I click advance option I can see the diff. Partitions from the original mirror image of my old HHD.

I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions please? Thank you

FYI... Corsair SSD's have known issues with TP"s in general !
search this forum and or Digitallife , am sure you find them....

I have new E420 & E220s and they been successfully upgraded to these

Good luck

EDITED :: ADDITIONAL INFO
I am not sure if these are helfull info; but really in "long term" for me > it was lots cheaper to buy INTEL's than messaround with corsair; kingstons ; OCZ etc etc DUE TWO THESE FACTORS:....
These were not EASILY avalible from other verdors (plus reliablity Vs Speed issue)
1) Intel® SSD Toolbox Avalible FREEE!!
2)Intel® Data Migration Software Also FREE !!!
And Host of other tools ec for SSD
AM not sure what is avalible from other VENDORS - (havent looked at them laterly) but when I FIRST STARTED this exercise when W700 Series where released nearly 18mths ago , there was NOTHING!!

Sorry - but hope these are/is helpfull to someone

Cheers

Fixed problem, What i had to do was make the mirror copy of my original HHD to my SSD. Once this is done i installed SSD and ran boot disk (since it wouldn't load OS from SSD after mirror image) at the boot menu i was able to do a factory install on my SSD using the CDs.

so basically i had to install the OS twice.

hope this helps anyone.

My laptop is blazing fast now.

~16 sec boot time
