i've upgraded my x210s to a intel 320 ssd and read that i need to have the hdd password set for the encryption to have any point, however if i turn that password on, when i swipe to switch the machine on, it gets past the swipe screen but then it still prompts me for the hdd password.

i have laptop and hdd passwords set as the same but different to the windows password.

help, please?

Shanky..
AFAIK.. thats HOW ITS SUPPOSED to work!!!
due to security; you dont want to have a possibility of a USER changing and accessing "secured" data via his FP reader access.
Hope this helps
Cheers

not a clue, just turned it on and somehow it worked!! i was thinking the windows pass and the bios pass had to be the same but the morning i booted up to change the bios pass to see if this worked, it worked before i had the chance.

my bios and hdd passwords are of course the same.
