Reading/searching through this forum and notebook review forums, i realized some folks have been able to customize new laptops without the windows OS and with only DOS, they reported a savings of upto $100.

How can i do this?
When i goto lenovo website and customize, there is no option to remove windows...

I have multiple retail copies of windows that i can use, so i dont need the OS on the laptop i get.,..

• Lenovo systems with a DOS preload do not include a Microsoft Windows license nor the standard Lenovo software application preloads. These systems are not recommended for the average PC user. Above average technical experience with PCs and software are typically required to install the software and drivers needed to make these systems fully functional.

Keep in mind that you are effectively in a different offer section of the Lenovo web site, so you may miss out of some special offers from time to time.
