small mouses for Thinkpad.

the mouse that I have been using with my T42 is broken(the scroll wheel is broken). I got it when I was in Hong Kong. It was fairly cheap so no big loss. Now I'm in the market for a new one. Any suggestion??

I don't really have any preference. just something small and/or interesting

I am using a black, mini, wireless mouse connected to a USB port on my T30, it also has a PS2 connector. It cost around $30.00 from e-bay, there are dozens to choose. These are buy-it-now for $24.95 and bidding starts around $9.99. I am connected via T-mobile Hotspot in Cleveland, Ohio, and the mouse has never encountered a problem.

IBM makes a wonderful little travel mouse if you are in the market for such and item. Wired, optical. Same black finish as the TP case. Softly lit red scroll wheel for gri gri factor. I have a logitech wireless MX900 attached to the dock on my desk. Both are great and do the job they were designed to do wonderfully.

I use this one; it's almost perfect: the USB adapter hinges so that you can adjust to the form factor or position of your TP USB port. It's an RF, optical that works for me on almost any light colored surface. Also, it suspends automatically until you make contact w/its contacts in order to save power [2 AAA- I use NiMHs and always carry a charged backup set]
I use one at my [employers]engineering workstation about 9 hrs/day. I go thru a set of batts every 7-10 days. Also, it's cheap enough that I own 2.

2 minuses:
You have to initiate a handshake between the USB adapter/sender/receiver and the mouse every time you boot your system [not really a big deal, you just turn on the dip switch [occasionally you have to switch it on twice to get it to fully power up] on the mouse bottom and push a button on the end of the USB receiver, then within 10 seconds push a second button on the bottom of the mouse.

It is a little 'tricky' sliding the cover off the top of the mouse to change batteries- this would be where I would re-engineer the unit. It could break with to much persuasion and gorilla fingers.

The big pluses are definitely the size and hinged USB receiver [and it does have a carry bag for the whole thing + a USB extension dongle]

Another caveat w/T21 crowd: The position of our USB ports are so close to the AC power cord input that they make a tight a fit for both at the same time. do-able, but barely.]

Still a good mouse for the $$.

Excellent mouse, no need to worry about battery outage, great cord management, and not as heavy as cordless ones.

I always like my microsoft travel mouse (the sliver and red one, not sure the name of it), works really well, used to almost 1 1/2 year until I got my MS BT mouse...
