Document markup

I'm looking at purchasing an X61 tablet. I was wondering what the software is called that allows document markup with the stylus. Also wondering if this is any kind of file? Also wondering a little about the particulars of this program. Does it attach a small file to the document that has the markup information?

I'd just like to find out as much as I can about this function so I can be an educated buyer.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Michael

Is this one of those topics that has been rehashed over and over again? Is that why I'm getting so many reviews but no posts? If this is the case, can someone direct me to that thread?

A belated Welcome to thinkpads.com!

I'm not sure if there's any general piece of software that will allows markups in whatever document you want. My guess would be that the individual applications would have to natively support that function. For example, I just pulled out my X41t, fired up Microsoft Office 2003, entered some random text and then enabled Ink Annotations (View/Toolbars/Ink Annotations). I can then "draw" on the Word document and save it. You might want to try searching the net for "annotation thinkpad x61 tablet", or something like that for an X61t in particular or "windows tablet pc annotation" for this function in general.
