Hello Batuta,

look at IBM's site, using fru-numbers, otherwise You 'll not find reassurance:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.ws ... IGR-4TPJQG
The first Ultrabay drive (PCMCIA only), I knew, did work with the TP 770X (e.g.) and did differ from the - later - Ultrabay 2000, working with the A31p (e.g), both in internal dimensions and external connection (USB and PCMCIA).

Drivers are available for windows 2000, with XP it is said to be usable, using the Windows 2000 drivers.

Both differ from ultrabay enhanced and ultrabay slim drive in specs. Using such drives with a ultrabay 2000 housing will need specific adapters, available on IBM's site.

Good luck

started with IBM-XT (80186) and AST-Ascentias NB (910N) in the 90ties, relying on Thinkpads (770X, A31Ps) until 2012,
now using an upgraded T60-61P "Frankenpad" (15"UXGA-LED Penryn 8GB 500GB/7200), and an X201/X230T (i7 8/16GB/500GB) Windows10
