acpiec warnings in Event Viewer

From what I've read about this, this is common for those running TPFanControl or other programs that monitor internal temps. Is the years old solution of patching or editing the acpiec driver to suppress these errors being written to the event viewer log still the best solution?

If so, does anyone have a patch that is known to play well with Thinkpads (T60 and X60, if it matters)? Thanks.
