T43 and T60 DVD drive compatibility

#1 Post by emeraldgirl08 » Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:01 pm

This is probably a no-brainer for many of you. I don't have any experience with T6x and T4x ultrabays. I am wondering if the slim drive of a T4x will fit in to the ultrabay of the T6x?

I have looked at Thinkwiki but I'm still not 100% sure.

Thanks :)

They will, but the bezels will not exactly line up.

See e.g. the thread Swapping T60 Multiburner w/T42 DVD/CDRW and especially this post.

As noticed in that thread as well in the thread T6x v. T4x optical drive the bezel is (very slightly) different... but unless you're really picky, I doubt you'll notice it.
