Thinkpad Protection for California

#1 Post by davidlg16 » Thu Apr 07, 2005 1:51 am

I know you can't get Thinkpad Protection for personal use in California, but can you get it for business/professional ?

I purchased with educational discount (shipped yesterday), would that have an effect on me saying I'm using it for business purposes? Both my parents do own 2 different businesses and I really do work for them ... on weekends ... and get paid in allowance

Thanks in advance

I would call them FAST, since technically, you need to get Protection at order time. Call, and add it to your order, without saying anything about student status. If they state that this is a student order, just say that you ARE a student, but using it for your employment at "Business Name".

IBM does allow the purchase of Thinkpad Protection Plans through the educational discount site. You can therefore assume that they recognize students (its also a site for alumni) might use it for business. Had that been impossible it would be wrong for IBM to allow such purchases off of their educational/alumni site.
