T40 is dead-no lights

#1 Post by T43pSSD » Wed Oct 26, 2011 7:23 pm

a friend's T40 is dead, no lights, nada.

I found the F2 fuse was blown, the m/b looks like new otherwise, no other blown fuses
as far as I see. I temp. soldered in a 7A fuse but it's still dead, regardless whether
it's on PS or just battery. Any thoughts on what else to check?

Given the price range of T4x units nowadays, you're better off just picking a barebone working machine and throwing in hard and media drives from your friend's unit...there are way too may things that could possibly be wrong with that board.
