I have been having trouble with track point scrolling (with middle button) for a while now.
It seems to work randomly, usually getting stuck even if you let the middle button go. Cnnot move the cursor then, it keeps scrolling.
It is either that or it does not scroll or move the cursor altogether.
I played with drivers, no luck. I ended up trying factory recovery - still the same problem with original system. It must be hardware problem then, my question is, would replacing the keyboard help?
I do not really want to buy the new keyboard if it would not help, on the other side I really miss the track point scrolling.
Any ideas guys?
Track Point scrolling, mind of its own.

Re: Track Point scrolling, mind of its own.
Couple of things to check. I often see lots of dust around the button which could in extreme cases stop it from working or working on its own - take the red top off and carefully using a toothbrush, gently brush any dirt, hair etc from around it.
You could also try it without the red top to make sure the red top thingy isn't somehow stopping it from working.
Most likely I'd put it down to a broken track point board (or ribbon cable track on the keyboard connector) so replacing the keyboard's the easiest solution.

Thanks for your input.
It's been a while since I checked the board so apologies for late reply.
I did clean the trackpoint, that did not help. In the meantime touchpad starts to behave erratically.
I will probably replace the keyboard and hope it does the trick.
