Problem with movies

#1 Post by vi » Tue Apr 12, 2005 7:32 am

I have T42 2374E18.

Radeon 7500 inside.
When i try to play movies in mplayer (windows XP home) the sound is ok but screen is black (seems like overlay is on different monitor)
But if i try to play DVD movies via PowerDVD - all is ok. And if i pause movie in PowerDVD and try to open in mplayer - it is ok also.

I have radeon drivers for my thinkpad from IBM site.

Please help. Problem is very strange. i think i should reinstall video driver - but when i try to install newest driver from ATI - all games (like NFS) runs very slow and with bugs in calculations.

Don't expect too much to mplayer. The compatibility always is its shortage, at least by far.

I don't think it has anything to do with your video card driver.
Check the version of mplayer that you have. mplayer version 10 plays DVD pretty well. But I usually play DVD with powerDVD.

In your display settings, does it have multiple monitors enabled? Make sure your LCD is the Primary Display, because only the primary display will show moving video.

i like it - it small and comfortable player
i'm not using mplayer10. i use mplayer 8 (from win9x) and i'd like it too much to change it.

but two weeks ago player works fine. and something happened. i think i should change video drivers but not on last version.
