t22 resolution

My T22 displays beatifully at 1024X768 but looks terrible at 800X600. Does anyone know why this would be happening or if there is anything I can do if I need to work at 800x600?

I think this is an issue with LCD monitors. They have noticeable reduced sharpness when not at their native resolutions.

I think it has to do with the size and structure of the pixels on the LCD screen as opposed to electrons being fired at a phosphor coating

That's the way it's designed. The display has 1024X3 by 768X3 discrete LCDs which are fixed in position and form what you see by turning on and off in one of three colors. In order to show a desktop in a lower resolution, the LCDs must spread (interpolate) the image across several LCDs which results in the degraded image you're experiencing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LCD

In searching other posts I found mentions of products like Liquid View and DisplaySet. Are these these primary options other than an external monitor? Is one preferable to the other?
