New in box T41p or T43?
New in box T41p or T43?
I've been offered a new in box T41p at a good price. I really want the 14" 1400 x 1050 display for power and weight reasons - will miss my A31P screen though.
Any thoughts on going for this older generation T41p v the newer T42 / T43 models?
Thanks
David

This is just the problem - I can't see any real benefit to the T42 / T43 - if anything just some negatives around battery life especially with the T43.
What am I missing? It seems to be that the very gradual upgrades from the T40 through to T43 scarcely seem worthy of seperate model numbers.

Nothing really. It's called marketing.dct wrote:What am I missing?
While the fingerprint reader of the T42 can arguably be said to be sufficient cause for a new T series, I can't really see the reason for the T43 other than the 730, 740 750 and 770 processors. Pure marketing.

Hi,
I totally agree with James here. If you get the t41p at a good price I would go for it. It's an awesome machine and I wouldn't want to miss it.
Of course there may be slightly better ingedients in the newer models, but every pro has it's con, e.g. battery life.
When you buy a computer it's already old when you've bought it.

Chances are you wouldn't even notice the speed difference, but if you run CAD or such applications, the FireGL card in the T41p will definitely help.
