T30 & IBM High Rate Wireless Mini PCI Card Issue

#1 Post by jhrain » Wed Apr 13, 2005 10:08 pm

I have a 2366-91U. I purchased the IBM High Rate Wireless Mini PCI 802.11b card. For some odd reason when I connect to a wireless hotspot I always connect at 2MBs and often cannot browse the web.

I've confirmed I'm running the latest drivers.
I've disabled the firewall.
I've tried using the new Version of Access Connections 3.71 (same with or without the tool)

I've tried uninstalling the card. I've tried rebuilding the laptop hardrive... same issue.

I've replaced the card with a brand new one (same type, IBM replaced this card under warranty for me).

Suggestions? I'm scratching my head here on this one.

I have a T30 (2366-EG9) for work purposes and since running the new TP Software Installer it's complete buggered up my wireless card. Connectivity is extremely unstable and I have the exact same problem as you. I've tried downloading the driver again, rolling the driver back to the previous one - all sorts.

If someone has a solution to this, jhrain and myself would like to know!!!!

Hmm, I have the same setup on my 2366-87U and no problems, except that whereever I go it always finds an SSID named 101 that it connects to but never gives me internet.

FYI, though, I don't use Access Connections. I wish I could, but since upgrading to SP2 my laptop takes FOREVER to start up unless I let Windows manage my wireless. I've tried everything I could to fix that so I could use AC, but no luck...

I also had the same issues. 2366-JBU. I just disabled IBM Access Connections and started letting Windows manage wireless connections and never had anymore problems!
