Thank goodness.

Really! After all, where would they put it without disturbing the already excellent layout?

In addition to the IBM app, there are other utilities to simulate the Windows key, and the subject has been beaten to death here several times. You can probably find the previous discussions using the Search button at the top of the page.

Not to mention I really don't want more Microsoft advertising than the XP sticker, especially since a key isn't as easily removeable.

Nothing to do with sales, I just don't like staring at corporate logos, especially those of corporations I dislike.

Its sad really, as I already own a Windows XP license and certainly did not "need" another one.

I used to use the windows key a lot before I got the TP. Especially the WIn-E to pop windows explorer. Now I got used to it and I don't miss it anymore.
I don't think the keyboard layout should be changed. it is already optimized and adding a windows key will make the layout so much more awkward.

The great thing is that the keyboard layout for all TP are pretty much the same as well as the size. So I did not have any problem going from T42 to A31p.

I suspect, however, when Lenovo fully takes over and start to roll out new designs there will be a windows key included in there.

The trick with the stickers is to take them off RIGHT AWAY, if you use the laptop for a while then the adhesive becomes much more difficult to remove, not to mention the color under and around the sticker will no longer match, even though its all black.

I got rid of the stickers on mine after about a year. The sticky stuff was annoying, but a tiny bit of isopropyll alcohol (90%) took it off! :D
