Post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's marketplace and you'll find one for $15 or less most likely...

Why a PCMCIA and not an internal card, though?

Thank you for your advice Ajkula

Probabaly a couple of reasons for not going with an internal card...for my 2373-7CU

1) Cant seem to find the part I need, part# 91P7412

2) dont want the hassle of opening up the chasis and screwing something else up.

You can install any IBM-branded mini-PCI wireless card in that T40 and will work just fine.

You only have to remove the keyboard and palmrest, takes less than 15 minutes even if you've never done it before.

Good luck.

That's an old Cisco card which is "b" only and pretty obsolete by today's standards.

I'm fairly certain I've got a couple of them somewhere, and will check if you insist, but you're much better off with a newer card that provides higher speeds and supports higher types of encryption.

Thank you Senior for your thoughts.

I am getting a bit confused what card will work and not work. In speaking with Lenova customer service, the correct mini pci card for my computer is listed in this reference:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product ... MIGR-46474

Form my model of T40 type 2373-7CU, the rep said the only card which will work is part# 91P7412.

The computer is running Win NT...so please remember this restriction. I must run NT4.

Since this card is rarely available since it is an old Cisco card part# 91P7412, that is why I went to the PCMCIA choice, part #31P9109, which is more expensive.

If you interepret this table differently, or have expereince positive results in another way, I am listening to your guidance.
