Stubborn 1802 error in T43
I wanted to install a third-party Atheros wireless card into my uncle's old T43. Problem is I hit 1802 error and I can't cure it!
I updated to latest BIOS (1.22) and Embedded Controller (1.05) on the system. Then I tried 3 different reincarnations of no-1802.com I found on the web including a linux live CD and a couple of executables. They all seem to work fine and load with no errors returned but when I reinstall the card and restart the PC, the message persists. Am I missing something here?
P.S. Machine is type 1871. It's a regular 14in T43 with Intel video card.

"No-1802" hack doesn't work on T43, R52 or any of the later models.
You need a modded BIOS in order to use a non-whitelisted card.

Wow, didn't know that. Where do I get such a BIOS?

Scroll down to: Use unofficial modified BIOS
There are 2 versions for the T43, one for TYPE 18xx (Intel) and TYPE 26xx (ATI).
Those BIOSes also get rid of that pesky Hard Disk Error 2010.
Highly recommended BIOS updates!
