Video editing program for hd mp4 videos?

Can anyone recommend a good standard novice style video editor that will run on a t42? Mine's got 64mb video

I'm looking for something that will allow me to edit and overlay audio in a thumbnail version, then let me recompile in hd overnight once I'm done?

Any help would be appreciated.

T42 will not run hd footage with any editing suite, unless you think 1 fps is an efficient work environment.
You need a much faster machine.
