T40 motherboard replacement

Hi all !

I want buy a second motherboard for my dead thinkpad T40 (GPU issue).

I saw in the lenovo service parts: http://support.lenovo.com/fr_FR/product ... D011019#15
a lot of motherboards models for replacement, but do you know if all mobo are affected by the famous GPU problem ?

And which FRU PN are compatibles with my config : 14.1 SXGA+ screen, Ati mobility radeon 9000, Pentium-M 1.6GHz

All T4x boards suffer from unsoldered GPU and Southbridge (SB) chips. Any board with 7500 Radeon GPU is likely to suffer from either chip being unsoldered; metal topped GPU's are more likely to have just unsoldered SB chips.

You can fit any T4x board into your T40, though some will need an extended Heatsink Fan Assembly to also cover versions with metal topped GPU's.

Today i put my svga+ screen on a T41 base (type 2374-204) with a 93P3307 motherboard.

The thinkpad refuse to boot:
When I power on, the green LEDs on bottom of the screen turn on, but the screen staying black, i don't see the IBM logo and can't enter in bios.

I try to remove RAM, the motherboard is beeping, normal.
I try to put DDR PC2100 & PC2700, the motherboard don't beep.
I try on an external vga screen, same problem, staying black.

Do you think the mobo is dead ? Because the seller tested is before shipping it...
