Sigh....sent my thinkpad in to get the fan assembly replaced

now they're holding it for parts....grr....I want it back dammit. Fan was making a grumbly noise and CPU was getting pretty hot.

I had to do the same thing with my T30 recently. I found an authorized IBM repair facility in my city and talked them into ordering the part(s) for me (meanwhile I still had possession of the precious TP). When the parts came in I brought it in to them one afternoon and it was ready to be picked up the next morning around 11:00 a.m. So I was only w/o TP for less than a full day.
