Awaiting T43p 2668H2U, Upgrade to IBM a/b/g wireless?

I am awaiting the shipment of a T43p which comes with Intel Pro 2200. Should I change my order to have an IBM 11 a/b/g (atheros) card installed instead? I have read quite a few posts where people are are having issures with the Intel card. I am afraid that if I "customize" my order (to have the wireless card swapped) it will delay it even more. Should I just wait and see and swap out later it is an issue, or save a few bucks and get it swapped out before being shipped? Thanks in advance for any and all opinions.

I have had both cards. IBM a/b/g in T43 and Intel in a T42. The latest IBM driver is the same for both cards. I don't know if it's the reason but in compairing the two I can find absolutly no differance in stability or range. I too thought about upgrading the T42 to the a/b/g card but after using both I see absolutly no reason after my comparitive testing.

i had to order T43p's for stock with the intel wifi cards..
i figure i'll wait and see if my customers want the IBM/Atheros card before i get a bunch of those and upgrade to from the intel card..

i have some T43p's coming this week but they are the 14 inch models which are easier to get with the ibm card..

for some reason, its hard to get the ibm card with the 15 inch display and fingerprint reader..

i suggest that you wait and see how it performs..

i have the t42p with the abg atheros card. I wondered if it can be replaced by any card on the market.

read somewhere that bios blockes several cards on older thinkpads.

why my question. don't know the sensitivity of the current card, but sometimes i have problems with connections.

said is that a SENAO card with 100mw or 200mw output would give tremendous better range for connecting to an AP which is not directly below your desk.
