Death keyboard!

#1 Post by Vonfeffer » Sun Jun 17, 2012 3:52 pm

Hi, I have a T43 2.26Ghz wich had a power surge (screen went darker then usual and everything became slower - OK I plugged two external usb hds). After that it came back to life but after some time of use it's keyboard stopped working. If you restarted it it's keyboard came back to life. After a while the keyboard finally died, so I replaced it. Long story short it happened again. Since I have lots of T4x spare parts laying arround I tested the keyboard on a t42 and it worked fine until the surge came back again this time on the t42 and it kept repeating that same behaviour. Tested on a R50 and the same think all over again (always the same power supply, hd and else). So I tossed that keyboard away and used another one with a T41, again with the same power supply, hd and etc. No more surges... What could it be? Is this the tale of the keyboard of death? The funny thing is that on the r50 and t42 windows kept working fine (mouse included) it just couldn't turn themselves off or reset...

Any thoughts???

Regards

Tercio
