All I wish to know is if this is an option to scaling CPU speed, can you help me?
PS) Please excuse me for my VERY BAD english

Very useful for me, I like this toolIbmPad wrote:Here you can find an up-to-date summary about it (in the Utility work area forum) : http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=105203. Hope it can be useful to you.
OK thank you very much, it's clear enoughIbmPad wrote:1. I know that "Battery Maximizer & Power Management features" is installed on my computer (which "TV PowerManager" seems to have replaced on T43 systems), but I never tried to use any of its features. Anyway, I don't think it will conflict with my app.
Concerning the fan control software, my program does also control the fan speed, but if you prefer to continue using TP Fan Control, you just have to disable fan control in my app.
2. You are right about the CPU 'automatic' setting. But before it can work efficiently, you will have to configure it properly, i.e. enter the different frequencies you want it to switch between, along with the corresponding voltages and usage thresholds.
Normally, Windows has the same behavior, but what is interesting there is to use lower voltages than the default ones. If you set voltages that are too low, the CPU can hang, so you can use RMClock (to quickly switch values) along with Prime95 (for stability tests) to find the optimal voltages for each frequency that will reduce your power consumption and thus produce less heat, without making your computer unstable.
I hope it helps, let me know if I wasn't clear enough.
