Quick power cord/adapter question
I would love a little assistance with a quick question. I just moved from the US to Europe so all of my electronics have cords with the wrong socket type. I have a standard AC adapter (FRU 02K6756) for my T42p with a 2-prong connection (no ground). How do I find a cord that will fit the adapter? Is it a standard or proprietary connection? Is it called something specifically? Basically, I just need an Amazon query for a.. you know... a whatchamacallit cord...

Re: Quick power cord/adapter question
Which country in Europe?
The UK and Ireland have the same type, but are different from the rest of Europe.
Switzerland, France and Italy each have their own system, which are also different from each other.
Germany and Holland have the same system, which is quite similar to that of France, etc.
Pick your country (and plug) from here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power_plugs_and_sockets
Most European countries can accommodate the so-called Europlug, a 2-pin plug that fits almost everywhere.
If you get a "(female) Figure-8 to (male) Europlug" you are probably good.
Even easier would be a US-to-Europlug" adapter such as:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Travel-Charger- ... 0901198556
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Premium-US-USA- ... 1020929323
You can usually buy those on airports that connect flights directly to Europe.
However, before you use it, make sure your US equipment can handle 220-240 Volt! (the T42p adapter can).
Or buy a big mother of a 240-115V transformer.

Re: Quick power cord/adapter question
Thanks for the reply! I guess "figure-8" was the keyword I was looking for. Luckily, all of my electronics can handle 230V. I'm shying away from adapters since I'll be here for a while, but your post answered my question exactly. Thanks!
