Replacing T43 screen

#1 Post by mingomoingo » Tue Jul 24, 2012 11:30 am

I have a T43 with a bad screen that is a 14.1" SXGA 1400x1050 FRU# 92p6760. I'm having a hard time finding an inexpensive replacement & I'm wondering if a 14.1" XGA 1024x768 would work in this laptop? Do I need to replace the inverter & cable also?

One other question, will a 14.1" SXGA 1400x1050 FRU#13N7059 work with this laptop? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

If you go XGA, you'll need a different cable.

The SXGA+ screen that you're inquiring about will work just fine, plug and play.

Should you choose to take the XGA route, feel free to PM me - I've got a complete assembly pretty and cheap.

Happy hunting.

Thanks for the quick response. The reason I wasn't sure about replacing my FRU#92P6760 with a FRU#13N7059 even though they are
the same Samsung part #LTN141P4-L02 is because I searched these forums & found a post by someone that tried to replace a FRU#13N7059
with a FRU#92P6760 & he said it didn't work, something about an EDID chip?

On the T60 and up models there is a EDID chip on the panel, but no so with the T43 (usually) even though it might be the same panel. On the T4x line the ribbon cable carries the EDID info.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
