You can't download it. Drop an email to Bill Morrow (Bill@thinkpads.com) or a PM. He has a nice collection of ThinkPad Recovery CDs. He might make you a copy.

It will probably cost $35 + buying recovery CD's from bill. You can order recovery CD"s from IBM too...they first charged me 45 dollars, but then they called to say that they didn't have the CDs anymore. Instead they offered me burned versions with no name CD's for $20, which was a great deal, in my opinion! 8)

My T23 came with a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive but no recovery CD. Are you sure yours did not do likewise? If you aren't sure, here are two touchstones:

When you power up the machine, you should be promted for entering the BIOS with <F1>, entering the repair partition with <F11> or booting from external devices with <F12>.

If the above is missing <F11>, you need to find out if the partition is there but inaccessable. Go to http://www.fsys.nl/ and download the demo version suitable for your OS and run it. The first thing you will see is an overview of your drive and you will be able to see if the repair partition is there. If it is, you can download a floppy disk creator fron IBM that will restore access to the <F11> stuff.
