T43 2668 cto overheats in docking station
Picked this up a few weeks ago and installed win7pro standard MS win7 dvd. Did all the lenovo updates with their software updater and it has been running fine on battery and adapter. Pulled my other T43 1875 DLU out of it's docking station and put my new one in, booted and came up fine, migrated my seamonkey stuff over for email and web then after about a half hour working two feet away on one of my server I bumped the mouse and nothing happened on the 19 inch HP monitor. T43 was frozen, no fan noise, held the power button down on the dock and it did not power down, lifted the display lid and held the power button down on the T43, stayed on. Ejected the T from the dock and the wireless stayed on, bottom left was very hot, on the verge of uncomfortable to the touch. Removed the battery and put it back in, unit booted, I starte normally and ran. While I was typing the screen dimmed and the keyboard became non responsive but could and did cut and paste my first 30 lines and saved it in notepad then rebooted. For now it is running. This ran fine with XP pro. Is this a win 7 issue.
I alway try to go that extra mile at work, problem is the boss always finds me and brings me back

Hi there, neighbour!
Yes, T43/p runs hotter under W7. All of mine do.
Docking it doesn't help the matters either.
Do you have TPFC installed? What CPU is in that machine?

I stuck the original hard drive with xp pro and no problem, only with windows7 and only after doing some upgrades and adding seamonkey and firefox. Going to do a restore from the day after the win7 install 2 months ago and see how that goes.
