ATI2DVAG

#1 Post by malch » Fri Sep 14, 2012 12:53 am

Well I received the spare T43P m/b today [ in case I bricked the sata mod one]
Tested with known good components including the M24 fan and original heatsink setup
and .. it had vertical color dots about 1/2 inch spacing and a BSOD with ATI2DVAG as the error.
Went into XP in safe mode and the temps were normal.
So this guy sold me a m/b with a dying GPU. ...Ebay, Paypal

The ATI2DVAG BSOD need not be caused by defective HW; as mentioned in the thread T42p won't boot (see the links therein) a SW-error may also cause the same failure. Hint: Try search (Google) for "ATI2DVAG BSOD" and see what comes up.

The "vertical color dots about 1/2 inch spacing" however sounds much worse... :(

Note: I am not saying that your mobo is surely OK, just that seeing the ATI2DVAG BSOD need not mean that the mobo is defective.

Pretty annoying, in either case!

That does NOT sound good. The dots are a *really* bad sign indeed.

Return the planar.

If you still feel that you need a known good, properly tested T43p motherboard feel free to PM me.
