Q: T42 WIFI LED stopped working. What to do?

#1 Post by next » Fri Sep 21, 2012 4:40 am

Hi,

Resently, I upgraded the Windows XP drivers for my Intel 2200BG wifi card, and the wifi LED on my T42 stopped working. Even the Fn+F5 wifi option is gone.

I seem to rememeber that you had to install some IBM thinkpad software in the correct order to get it up and running again.

Can someone remember the procedure on how to get the LED working again?

... check to see if you need the Hotkey Features Integration or the Hotkey Features Integration driver?

Question: Have you used IBM's "Access Connections" WLAN-connecion utility until now, or have you used the built-in Windows WLAN management; the WZC (the "Wireless Zero Configuration")?

Hint: Consider trying out the ThinkVantage System Update (assuming that you're running XP); it may ease the driver-download.

I used the Built-in Windows WLAN management and the old "IBM" Thinkpad power setting hotkey utility. However, now I am only able to switch the bluetooth on/off using Fn+F5.
