query:---any cooling contraption into the pcmcia slot...

#1 Post by T400plus » Wed Oct 10, 2012 8:26 am

I have put a new 2 Ghz cpu into my T41 and happy about that with only 32 mb graphics .
The laptop gets too hot sometimes even though i have undevolted it to 1.132.
I have a never used pcmcia slot on the left.
Can a contraption be put there to throw hot air out.?.

The 2 Ghz cpu is givig very good performance in relation to my T400 2.26 Ghz.

It's OOS there, but there's another on eBay:

T400plus, I have been using a 2.0gHz Dothan in my T40p for some time now and agree with you about the heat. I have just installed a new fan/heatsink and applied fresh AS5 and am now running in the 44 to 50C range. About 10C less that I was running prior to these changes. My usage is mainly iTunes streaming and web browsing, very little video.
T40p- 60gb ssd, 2gb ram,2.0gHz Dothan, Win XPpro
X41t- 40gb hdd, 2gb ram, 1.6gHz, Android 4.0.3 ICS
L412- i3, 256gb SSD, 8gb ram, Win7 x64
760C - cmos battery code issues
