t43 video problem

#1 Post by LeonQ » Wed Apr 27, 2005 9:05 am

Hello folks, I found an odd video problem that happened to my new t43, it can play a vedio smoothly when sitting rest on the desk, but when I shake or made it wobble, the same vedio it played getting stuck until I sat it back to normal, but the audio stream went fine, it wouldn't happen if the data stream stayed stable, it seems the hard drive cannot read data smoothly when it wobbles, or any other reasons? BTW the video is stored in the HDD, Thanks for any input.

its the HD protection system kicking in every time you move the thinkpad. It's for your own good. :) Trust me, you don't want to turn the active protection system off.

thanks pphilipko, yes that's true, I was looking up the real-status of the active protection system, when it detected a shake it just shut off the HD for a while, so it interupted the data-stream which caused the sticking video.
