Trying to update bios, t43p, no hdd or os

#1 Post by mbr12 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:03 am

I'm still trying to update the bios on this t43p that will not detect the hd. So no hd, no Windows.
Does the diskette bios update from IBM have to be on a floppy or should it work from a cd? I tried the cd, but it doesn't work.
Thanks

Yes, the IBM diskette update must be put on a floppy. You may be able to convert it to a CD image on a computer that has a floppy drive. Here's one how to: http://www.ehow.com/how_5959817_convert ... tware.html
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

I did try to burn the file onto a cd using ImgBurn, that's what didn't work. It has to go on a floppy first?

Thanks. Guess I'll look for an antique store.

Will your laptop boot to a bootable cd? When you press F12 what shows up on the screen? :)
