Which model did you order? I ordered a 2668H2U: 15", 770, 7200 60GB, with fingerprint reader. Hopefully it will ship soon, given that yours is being packed.

chbone, which T43p CTO did u order? Is it the EJU or E4U series? When did u order?

I don't quite understand the status of "Packing" since the estimate of ship date is still "Call" and if you check the status when you log on to your account (not the status page you get from e-mail), the details status is still "In Process".

So, with the "Packing", anyone knows when can we expect the unit to arrive?

Think the new plant supposed to start work on 6th May, so seems like they have started on time.

But just checked the status for mine and estimated shipping still at 12th May :?

So while we're all waiting around which other reasonably well built, reasonably portable, 1600x1200 laptops might we be tempted by?

I feel really angry with this new company now. My packing status has been for 5 days. I have bought the memory and I can't return them now. If I have choice, I would never choose it again. So bad

I feel emphatized for you. I have the same problem and still waiting. When did your order status order changed? When did u place the order?

My status changed to packing on Friday May 6 and I placed the order April 4. I think they should at least tell us what is going on and what are they waiting for on the packing.

May be this is just another (deliberate) mistake that keep the too tired-to-wait customers away from cancel their orders.

By the time I receive my H2U I'll be old and gray

#45 Post by arwuah » Tue May 10, 2005 8:29 am

Dude,

I just checked my status for the H2U I ordered back in 02/02/05 and it says: "Est. Ship Date 06/07/05". I have waited too long. My shipment date has changed about five times. I am going to settle for a T42P and just count my winnings. There is no reason why this machine should not have shipped by now and for those of you who ordered the h2u and think it will ship in the next couple of days, you are wrong! Sorry, but that is the truth. In six months this machine will out-dated. My 3K can be put to better use!

Dissatisfied thinkpad hopeful. :( :? :x

Am i correct if i asume that you guys are ordering directly from IBM?
Why are you not ordering from somewhere else? Lots of places have Thinkpads on stock - For instance i just ordered three different machines and i will have them delivered on thursday.

One suggestion:

Can we issue one pentition about this? I really think the new company should know the concern of us.

Yes, we are ordering from IBM. We are talking about T43p 15" models. No place has it yet.

Thats faster than me. I ordered end Mar, and its "scheduled to ship 14th". Called IBM, and they said earliest it can reach me is 18th, provided they managed to send it out by Sat (do they work 1/2 day on Sat?).
I am behind you on this.

I don't know whether this will help your guys or not, I got response from my representative. You can check whether it can work for you.
I apologize for any inconvenience. I guess when we do a transition like this there is expected to be a few glitches. I have requested supply to print your order and ship it. I will check back with them later and let you know. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Also, if as you say, other people have expressed concerns, please have them do it to me so I can go it fixed for them. Thank you for your patience.

What exactly does print your order and ship it mean? Is he implying that it is built and that no one thought enough to print out the order to see who the boxed up system goes to? I am confused. Also, how can you rep help all of us since we all may have different reps?

I find it hard to believe that they have all of these systems built and can't get them built. If I had to guess, they were going to start building them and then were told to stop until things got moved around and the dust settled. I hope I am wrong and they are sitting in a wherehouse just waiting for mailing labels. :)

HaHa, they just want your money but give you nothing.
Mine is still packing!
I don't know what's the result. I am still waiting for my representative's result. I have two reps now, one is from IBM, the other is from Lenovo.

After one day's waiting, my status doesn't change and my rep didn't give me any response. I am really thinking this "Lenovo" is not in a good shape. I am really sick of them now.

OK, to update my own post, IBM hasn't shipped anything to me. My status has been "Packing" for almost a week now. Yesterday morning, I also received a stupid e-mail of shipment notification with number of items shipped to 0, except for 2nd HDD adapter to be 1.

The system unit est. ship date is still "Call" and accessories' are 5/11. But isn't today 5/11? Nothing has shipped at all. Why do they keep lingering like this?

I'm now looking for Dell & HP. The HP is looking more handsome to me everyday.

I already considered cancelling. If someone knows how I can get a comparably equipped M70 for mi d 2K's (currently waiting for 2668H2U at EPP Price) I would probably cancel my order.

The HP's look nice too. It's just that I don't like the $3500+ price tag that comes with them. I may have to start looking for friends who work at HP or know friends who work at HP.

My order has said in process ever since I ordered it back on 3/7/05. :( I already sent back the case and extra RAM, so as to not lose my 30 day satisfaction period on those.

fefland,

For Dell M70, keep checking gotapex.com for Dell's daily coupon. Sometime Dell has special discount coupon that can be used with business line notebook.

For HP, if you are student/alumni, check HP education site, they let you config nc8230 or nw8240 to your need.

I think this should be the final answer to all the 15' T43P
If you don't want to wait for two weeks, then cancel the order.
The particular model you chose is not being announce until the 24th, that's why there is such a lead time on it.
