Add Bluetooth IV (BMDC-3) in T43 1871-CTO

Hello everyone
Some month ago I've bought an used Thinkpad T43 1871-CTO without Bluetooth.
Now I need Bluetooth and I won't use one (of the two) USB with a Bluetooth dongle. If I replace the modem card with an "IBM Integrated Bluetooth IV with 56K Modem (BMDC-3)", FRU 39T0026, it will work?
If it works, the Bluetooth led on the screen plate does work too?

Don't know about that specific part but yes, Bluetooth comes in the same card as the modem. It's not a part that they changed often, I'm pretty sure a card from any T4x will do. You need to have the antenna built into the lid too. And if the plate contains the Bluetooth symbol, when properly installed it should lit.

However, when I installed Bluetooth in my old X31 the led never lit and I have no idea why. It worked fine except for that.

mmm...The plastic plate does not have the Bluetooth symbol, but I think the inverter board has the relative LED
BTW, Maybe I'm buying an entire screen assembly (SXGA+ ) that has Bluetooth symbol on the plastic plate.

I have found on ebay (I don't know if I can type any link to online stores so I put the object number: 290600778883).
It is "NEW IBM Bluetooth Card BMDC IV BMDC300 T43 R52 X41" and its FRU is 39T0026. Is that compatible with my T43 1871-CTO?

That is the correct card, but do you have an extra (white) antenna coming out of the lid? It should be hidden under your current modem card if it's there...

No, I haven't the bt antenna but I'll buy it.
