7800 mAh T40 batteries

#1 Post by Unknown_K » Tue Feb 12, 2013 1:32 am

Figured I would get a cheap "new" 9 cell 7800mAh battery on ebay ($24.43 shipped what the hell) for my T40. Anybody have any good luck or bad luck with these things? How long would they last in use? The old 6 cell still works decent but figured a new 9 cell would be better, and it will work in a T43 once I get around to buying one.

Hopefully it doesn't short out and burn the house down.

I've had one for several months now and all has been fine. It takes a little longer to charge but it does supply me with enough of a charge around 3-4 hours depending on my LCD brightness level and cpu consumption

Well, that's a 6600mAh and not a 7800mAh battery, which was the standard for T4x. Yes, it will work in a T43. Expect it to work very well for about a year and half, and then start losing capacity like crazy (due to being a Sanyo).

The battery says 7800 mAh on it. :(

Yes, the original battery which is still green was an IBM one from 2006 (still green) with Panasonic cells. Still for the money 2 years of use would be ok.
