Newbie here, My t43 says to get the screensaver feature to work, I need a video card installed. Where is it located, and how to get at it. And any generic card will work in it? Ed

On the bottom of the laptop is a label that says something like: TYPE 2686-DHU S/N: L3-12345 06/08
I just need your bold 7-character TYPE.
The laptop already has an (ATI or Intel) graphics card installed (soldered onto the motherboard), but obviously the drivers are missing.
Based on TYPE I can tell you where to get drivers.

Hi, the number is: 187162u, and I have Windows 7. Which I found out trying to get a Canon BCJ printer on, it didn't support it. But I did finally get in on. So, I'm figuring it might be difficult getting any drivers for it. Ed

Bad news!
Neither Vista nor W7 support the Intel graphics used on your T43. A generic VGA driver is all that's there.
Your best bet is to go back to Windows XP.
