t42 usb drivers

#1 Post by bronevaya » Wed May 04, 2005 9:40 pm

Ibm's website doesnt have usb drivers for windows xp (for the t42)

I can connect usb devices but it tells me "you have connected a hi speed usb device into a non hi speed port)

where do I get these mysterious drivers?

p.s - ibms new thinkpad software installer doesnt detect them

pps - the new thinkpad software installer reflects levenos purchase, it scares me :(

if you are using a hub and you have something that isn't USB2 plugged in when you do plug in the USB2 item you'll get that message. I think it was discussed somewhere else on this fourm...

other wise I have no clue.

My T42 (2378-FVU) recently began having the same issues. I haven't installed or changed any drivers. I'll be dealing with it after finals (May 20) and will let you know what I find out.

Do a search on this forum.

There is a lot of issues with t4x usb 2 port working only as usb 1.

It's an hardware problem which need a new motherboard to be solved.

LOL, just great. I'll do a search after finals and then give IBM a ring. They're coming to replace my LCD anyway...maybe they'll just give me a new one sans hard drive ;)
