Thinkpad T43 Availablity in UK

Hi

Having real trouble getting a new t43 to replace my (very) battered t30.

Cant seem to get a t43 with 15" scren at 1400x1050.

Ideal spec is t43 1.8
512mb ram
1400 x 1050
cdr
40gb hard drive

No problem getting hold of models with 15" with XGA or 14" svga+ but want svga+ and find the 14.1 XGA screen I currently have annoying when working with developmen software with lots of windows and would have real trouble looking at 1400x1050 on a 14" screen for the hours i work.

Worst case, i would buy the 14.1 and get a 19" tft monitor when at office

Any ideas or any resellers in US that would ship to UK

Insight Uk list the product, but tell me about 20 working days. Cant be bothered waiting.

Have been offered a t42 instead with this spec

IBM ThinkPad T42 2373 - Pentium M 745 1.8 GHz - RAM 512 MB - HD 80 GB - DVD Multi Recorder - Mdm - LAN EN, Fast EN, Gigabit EN, 802.11b, 802.11g - Centrino - Win XP Pro - 15" TFT SXGA+ (1400 x 1050)

at £1600 inc taxes

Better than t43?

I have also cancelled my order from Insight and wrote a complaint letter indicating how crap their services are.

I ordered a t43p nearly a month ago and each time the expected date extends. I then complained to a business line manager who assigned an Account manager to me. This Account manager phoned me day before yesterday and promised me that my laptop would be with me… guess what it wasn’t. Really unhappy with the service I cancelled my order. Now I’m trying to find some else… If you find some please let me know.

I too am waiting on a T43 from insight. I actually ordered 2 - one was in stock. The other I have been waiting on for 2 weeks and getting it next week. My account manager explained it's becuase IBM/Lenovo are doing a global stock check and so items are not getting out very quickly

Dam right... Since cancelling my order yesterday and giving feedback though the web site (as below not sure who it goes thorough) I got a phone call 3 hours later from my account manager… you should see him now. Phoning me whenever there is any I mean any info.

As a directory of a company, would I recommend Insight? Never. Would my company or myself do business with Insight? Never!
