Welcome to the forum!

I'd suspect the CPU, and not GPU, to be your problem.

What's the full 7-character model number of that T43? How much RAM do you have in there?

ThinkPad T43 (2669-6EK)
P M 760(2.0GHz), 512MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, CDRW/DVD, Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1 Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, Fingerprint Reader, 6 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

Your first move should be upgrading to 2GB RAM...and even then, don't expect miracles. These machines - although I love them dearly - are getting long in the tooth and flash doesn't play nice with their single core CPUs.

Good luck.

Installed video card drivers for vista, from the lenovo site. now its fine, and the problem solved.

How to change the amount of shared memory for the video card?

You can't. It's automatically determined by the system.
