I'd like to buy a T43. Need advice/suggestions

Hi,

I am about to buy a thinkpad and have decided to go for a T43. I needed any advice/suggestions before i can actually fire the shot.

I read on zdnet that the battery life if mediocre. I'd like to know if any of you have issues with battery. Also it says that performance is almost the same as the T42. Since T43 has a 533 Mhz RAM, im assuming it should be better performing than a T41.

After Lenovo actually took over the pc division early this month, Im unable to find a T41 which would be the best buy.

Any advice/suggestions are warmly welcome.

Best regards

If you just need a ThinkPad for basic business tasks (email, word, excel, web browsing) the T42 is more than good enough.

I would suggest the T43 if you are running bandwidth hungry applications like video editing or encoding. The 533 MHz FSB and faster RAM will help, and I think the performance boost is worth the sacrifice of a bit of battery life in those circumstances.

If I had the $ and I needed a new T4x, I'd go with a T42p :)
